lucky.
Parents tend to wear many hats and fulfil many roles.
Being too authoritarian or trying too hard can often have an undesirable effect.
Your children will go through various stages as they grow up.
During these stages there may be some fairly predictable behaviour that appears to be common for the age or stage they have reached.
However, not all children will cope in the same way and may be influenced by situations beyond their control, such as peer pressure or a sudden loss.
Your children will often push you to the limit.
The rules or boundaries set within the family will be challenged.
This challenging can sometimes get too much or be destructive to the family group.
Life for both of you at any time can take an unexpected turn. It can be difficult to understand why these things happen and resolving the issues can be a daunting task.
Parents often try to change a situation, only to find themselves straight back to square one.
The aim of Parent Coaching is to promote an awareness of children’s needs and an understanding of the reasons for current behaviour.
This is done by looking at past and present factors that influence the child.
This includes the role of the parent and any other contributing reasons, which may affect a desired change in the presenting problem.
